April at the HiFi: Sixtoo! Chad Van Gaalen! Duck!
HiFi's April lineup is pretty rad. April 1, Sixtoo. April 8, Chad VanGaalen opens for Herald Nix. April 11, Duck opens for Columbus.
Things do happen in Cowtown. There are good art shows. New restaurants open all the time. Bands come through on the way to Vancouver. The Calgary art-house movie theatres have great programming. It's just not always easy to find out about things. So here's a blog for everyone who doesn't go to Cowboys.

Hey Bow City,
I was hoping I could talk to someone about some bands I do publicity for who are stopping in Calgary to play some shows.
Could you please get back to me with an email address?
Thanks!

Much like Emily,
I'm doing publicity for a Vancouver band called "The Painted Birds" (myspace.com/thepaintedbirds). The band is doing an acoustic tour of Alberta at the beginning of April and finishing their tour at Calgary's Marquee Room with a great band from Saskatoon called the Sheepdogs (myspace.com/thesheepdogs).
I would love if the event could get a mention in your blog, or if anyone would like to take it a bit further and do an album review or a show review etc, we would love that also.
Please contact me by email at
email: dom@thepaintedbirds
Thanks
